Our sandwich leather strap for the Ecco² model comes intentionally without stitching so that nothing diverts attention from the case and dial. Nothing? Okay, we admit that the contrasting color of the insert does lend the strap a certain sass.
Our leather straps are crafted in German manufactories that not only share our values in terms of quality and design, but our environmental principles as well.
We choose straps for a specific watch model, which presents a number of different requirements that must be fulfilled. This means that a leather strap for a dress watch might be soft and supple, while a strap for a more casual or sporty watch might be more robust, waterproof and made of high-tech materials. What unites them all is the respect for, adherence to, and perpetuation of traditional craft. After all, a good watchband also testifies to a living and breathing trade that requires manual dexterity and artistic skill.
Please keep in mind that our leather straps are natural products and that the steps involved in dyeing can lead to variations in color. Furthermore, hides, especially those of grazing cattle, will often display scratch marks or healed scars. We see these as part of their unique natural charm and beauty and an attribute that would be a shame to conceal or attempt to eliminate.
Good to know:
Over time, exposure to sunlight and perspiration will cause the leather strap’s original color to change. As a result, lighter colors will generally darken more dramatically.
Allow any strap that has become damp to dry thoroughly before wearing it again.
Our fold-over clasp eliminates the bending and folding of the watchband when you put it on and take it off every day, thus extending the strap’s service life.
Since leather straps worn daily will come into contact with bodily oils and perspiration, we recommended that you replace them routinely. This may be necessary from one to three years depending on your wearing habits.
